Keynote speaker Lisa Ray sparkles in Sona Jewelers Collection on September 17, 2016, New Jersey: Over 400 guests attended the SKN Foundation’s annual fundraising gala honoring cancer survivors and victims at the Marigold Hotel in Somerset, NJ. Fox News radio personality Vipp Jaswal emceed the evening’s program, which highlighted cancer’s impact on the South Asian community. The keynote speaker was actress Lisa Ray who spoke about her own battle with multiple myeloma.
“We chose to support this event,” says Chaman Nayar, founder of Sona Jewelers, “because cancer is affecting our South Asian community, and we want to do our part to help raise awareness of this disease.”
The colorful event included a performance by Indian singer-songwriter Falu, and culminated in a runway fashion show featuring Sona Jewelers Collection paired with the clothing of international designer Joy Mitra. In addition to the fashion show, the evening spotlighted real people who are creating change in their community and walked the ramp in support of the cause, including Giving Back Foundation’s Indian-American founder Meera Gandhi, NY1, anchor Joya Dass, actor Sonny Chatrath and Deepti Nair, and cancer survivor and model Chiara D’Agostino.
